Second-Market Reality

A Robot’s Value Is More Than Its Hardware

A humanoid robot can have a serial number, manufacturer account or official robot ID and still leave important second-market questions unanswered.

A future buyer may need to understand:

  • Who owned the robot and how was it used?
  • Was it regularly maintained or serviced?
  • Was it repaired, modified or involved in an incident?
  • What evidence supports its current technical condition?
  • Are software and cloud services still available?
  • Can licenses or subscriptions be transferred?
  • Can manufacturer accounts be separated from the current owner?
  • Can personal or operational data be deleted?
  • Are warranty, support and spare parts still available?
  • Does the documentation match the robot being offered?

Without a structured record, this information may remain scattered across invoices, emails, manufacturer portals, service documents, maintenance records, photographs, manuals, warranty documents and software accounts.

What Is the BotReburn Resale File?

The BotReburn Resale File is a structured second-market trust file for humanoid robots. It organizes available identity, ownership, maintenance, technical, software, support and lifecycle evidence and identifies missing information that may affect a future resale.

The Resale File does not create an official robot identity and does not replace manufacturer records, serial numbers, government identity systems or legal ownership documents. It adds second-market context around the robot’s identity.

It shows what is supported by evidence, what has been stated by the owner, what is publicly documented, what remains unclear and what may require clarification before resale.

Start Early

Do Not Wait Until the Day You Sell

A BotReburn Resale File can be started while the robot is still in active use.

Beginning early makes it easier to preserve purchase documents, maintenance records, service communication and lifecycle evidence before they are lost or become difficult to reconstruct.

Step 1

Start During Ownership

Record the robot model, purchase information, identity signals, available documents and current ownership context.

Step 2

Build the Lifecycle Record

Add maintenance, service, repairs, software changes, technical modifications, incidents and condition updates during the ownership period.

Step 3

Prepare for Resale

Review account separation, data deletion, licenses, documentation, accessories, warranty, support and ownership-transfer questions before the robot is listed.

Start with the evidence you already have. Additional maintenance, repair, software, condition and transfer information can later be incorporated through an agreed update or Resale File Refresh.

Evidence Principles

How the Resale File Creates a Clearer Evidence View

The BotReburn Resale File brings available resale-relevant information into a structured customer-facing view. It helps separate supported evidence from statements, uncertainty and missing information without presenting assumptions as confirmed facts.

01

Evidence Remains Distinguishable

Available documents, owner-provided information, public sources and unresolved points remain clearly distinguishable within the Resale File.

02

Lifecycle Context Becomes Clearer

Relevant identity, ownership, maintenance, software, support and transfer information is organized into a coherent second-market context.

03

Evidence Gaps Stay Visible

Missing, unclear or unavailable information is identified as an evidence gap rather than replaced by an assumption or unsupported conclusion.

The customer version presents the resale-relevant findings and their limitations. BotReburn’s detailed internal review methodology, assessment criteria and operational workflows are not part of the public Resale File description.
Start With What You Have

What You Can Provide

A Resale File begins with the information and evidence currently available for the robot. You do not need to have every document before starting.

01

Robot and Ownership Information

Basic robot details, available identity references, purchase information and the current ownership context.

Examples: manufacturer, model or variant, purchase documents and available ownership-related information.
02

Lifecycle Documentation

Available records showing relevant events during the robot’s ownership and use.

Examples: maintenance records, service or repair documents and relevant manufacturer or distributor communication.
03

Condition and Change Information

Available material relating to the robot’s current condition and known changes during its lifecycle.

Examples: photographs, videos, known damage, repairs, replaced components or technical modifications.
04

Digital and Resale Context

Available information that may affect future use, transfer or resale preparation.

Examples: software or cloud information, account-related details, support context, current location and intended resale timeline.

Missing Documents?

Missing documentation does not automatically prevent the creation of a Resale File. Missing or unclear information is identified as an evidence gap rather than treated as confirmed.

Protect Sensitive Information

Do not submit passwords, access codes or API keys. Unnecessary personal information relating to third parties should be redacted, and submitted documents or media must be authorized for sharing.

Your Customer Deliverable

04

Visible Evidence Gaps

Missing, unclear or unavailable information remains visible instead of being replaced by unsupported assumptions.

05

Resale Readiness Classification

An evidence-based view of the current documentation and resale preparation status—not a technical approval or safety rating.

06

Recommended Next Steps

Customer-relevant questions and possible clarification steps that may improve preparation for a future resale.

Included Customer Benefit

12-Month Fee-Free BotReburn Listing Eligibility

Every completed BotReburn Resale File includes eligibility to request one fee-free BotReburn robot listing during the 12-month period following the Resale File issue date.

Listing eligibility is subject to BotReburn’s listing requirements, platform availability and acceptance.

What the Benefit Covers

The included benefit covers the BotReburn listing fee during the applicable 12-month period.

What It Does Not Automatically Include

  • Sales commission or brokerage services
  • Transport or payment processing
  • Escrow or insurance
  • Physical inspection or on-site verification
  • Repair or technical services
  • Legal ownership transfer
  • Manufacturer account transfer
A fee-free listing does not guarantee publication, buyer interest, a sale or a specific resale value. A Resale File is completed when BotReburn has completed the agreed scope and issued the customer version.
Evidence-Based Classification

Resale Readiness Levels

Resale Readiness describes the clarity and completeness of the available resale-relevant evidence. It is not a technical approval, safety rating, certification or guarantee that the robot can be transferred or sold.

01 Resale Ready

Resale Ready

Essential identity, ownership and lifecycle evidence is available, and no major unresolved transfer issue is currently visible from the information reviewed.

02 Partially Ready

Partially Ready

The robot can be documented for resale, but important evidence, condition information or transfer questions remain open.

03 Evidence Gaps

Major Evidence Gaps

Several important areas relating to identity, ownership, condition, support, software or transferability are insufficiently documented.

04 Insufficient

Insufficient Evidence

The currently available information is not sufficient for a meaningful Resale Readiness assessment.

A lower Resale Readiness level does not automatically mean that a humanoid robot is defective, unsafe or unsuitable. It indicates that additional evidence or clarification may be needed.

A Resale File can begin with the evidence currently available. BotReburn confirms the individual scope, required information, price and next steps before an order is accepted.
Identity and Second-Market Context

Robot Identity Is the Starting Point — Not the Whole Story

BotReburn Position
Robot ID creates traceability.
BotReburn turns traceability into second-market trust.

An official robot ID, manufacturer serial number or lifecycle identity can provide an important starting point for identifying and tracing a humanoid robot.

Identity Alone Does Not Explain the Robot’s Lifecycle

A robot identity does not automatically provide a future buyer with the full second-market context.

  • Ownership and lifecycle history
  • Maintenance, repairs and relevant changes
  • Available technical-condition evidence
  • Software, account and data-transfer questions
  • Warranty, support and spare-parts context
  • Documentation gaps and resale preparation

The BotReburn Resale File adds available lifecycle and resale-relevant context around the robot’s identity.

BotReburn does not create or replace official robot IDs, manufacturer serial numbers, government lifecycle identity systems, manufacturer records or legal ownership documentation.
Clear Limits

Important Limits

The BotReburn Resale File is an evidence-based second-market documentation and decision-support service. It structures available information and identifies uncertainty that may matter during a future resale.

01

No Certification or Technical Approval

The BotReburn Resale File is not:

  • A certification or safety approval
  • A TÜV inspection
  • A conformity assessment
  • A physical or on-site technical inspection
  • A technical guarantee
02

No Legal Ownership Determination

The BotReburn Resale File is not:

  • An official ownership registry
  • An official robot passport
  • Legally binding proof of ownership
  • A legal opinion or legal advice
  • A replacement for official ownership documents
03

No Sale, Value or Transfer Guarantee

The BotReburn Resale File does not guarantee:

  • Publication, buyer interest or a sale
  • A specific resale price or market value
  • Manufacturer or distributor support
  • Software, account or license transfer
  • Warranty transfer or future operability
The scope and conclusions of an individual Resale File depend on the information, documentation and evidence available for the specific humanoid robot. Missing information is identified as an evidence gap and is not presented as confirmed.
The Process

How It Works

The BotReburn Resale File begins with the robot and the evidence currently available. BotReburn reviews the request and confirms the individual scope before an order is accepted.

01
Step 1

Start With Your Robot

Provide the manufacturer, robot model, current location, ownership status and intended resale timeline.

02
Step 2

Provide Available Evidence

Submit the documents, lifecycle information and other resale-relevant evidence currently available for the robot.

03
Step 3

BotReburn Structures the Evidence

BotReburn organizes the agreed information into a structured customer-facing evidence view and identifies unclear or missing information.

04
Step 4

Receive Your Resale File

The completed customer version is sent directly to you with its evidence-based Resale Readiness classification, relevant limitations and recommended next steps.

05
Step 5

Keep Your Resale File Current

After the initial 12-month period, regular six-month Refreshes can help keep the Resale File more current as new lifecycle, condition, software or transfer information becomes available.

Resale File Lifecycle

Initial Period and Ongoing Refreshes

The Resale File records the evidence available on its issue date. The associated documentation and fee-free listing eligibility follow a clearly defined update cycle.

12 Months

Initial Period

The initial period begins on the original Resale File issue date. During this period, the associated robot may qualify for one fee-free BotReburn listing.

30 Days

First Refresh Window

The first 6-Month Resale File Refresh must be requested within 30 calendar days after the original 12-month period ends.

6 Months

Ongoing Refresh Cycle

Each completed Refresh begins a new six-month update period and may continue the associated fee-free listing eligibility.

Continuing Every Six Months

Further Refreshes may be requested after each six-month update period. The next Refresh must be requested within 30 calendar days after the current period ends.

If a Refresh Window Is Missed

The fixed-price Refresh is no longer automatically available. BotReburn first reviews whether a new Resale File or an individually scoped update is required.

Regular six-month Refreshes help keep the Resale File more current and may improve its evidential value as new lifecycle information becomes available.

Customer Document

The Resale File is delivered to the customer. BotReburn does not publish the customer’s Resale File as part of the public robot listing.

Historical Record

The original Resale File remains part of the robot’s documented history. A later Refresh adds a new evidence position and does not erase the earlier version.

Fee-free listing eligibility remains subject to BotReburn’s current listing requirements, platform availability and acceptance. It does not guarantee publication, buyer interest, a sale or a specific resale value.
Transparent Scope

Pricing and Scope

The initial BotReburn Resale File is individually scoped. The price depends on the robot, its available documentation and the complexity of the resale-relevant evidence.

Initial Resale File

Individual Quotation

BotReburn reviews the submitted information before confirming the initial Resale File order.

The quotation confirms:

  • Agreed customer scope
  • Individual price
  • Expected delivery time
  • Required additional information
  • Next steps and order process
Pricing may depend on the robot model, available documentation, lifecycle history and evidence complexity.
Ongoing Update Option

6-Month Resale File Refresh

€99 including VAT

A completed Refresh establishes a new six-month update period and may continue the associated fee-free BotReburn listing eligibility.

The Refresh may include:

  • Relevant new lifecycle evidence
  • Updated resale-relevant information
  • Revised visible evidence gaps
  • An updated Resale Readiness classification
  • A new six-month update period
The fixed-price Refresh is available only when requested within the applicable Refresh window.
Continuous Six-Month Update Cycle €198 including VAT per 12 months

After the initial 12-month period, two consecutive six-month Refreshes currently total €198 including VAT. Each Refresh must be requested separately. There is no automatic subscription or renewal.

Missed Refresh Window

If the applicable Refresh window is missed, the fixed-price Refresh is no longer automatically available. BotReburn first reviews whether a new Resale File or an individually scoped update is required.

Request Before Order

Submitting a request is not an automatic order. BotReburn confirms the scope, price, expected delivery time and next steps before the order is accepted.

Fee-free listing eligibility covers the applicable BotReburn listing fee only. Other transaction, brokerage or additional service fees are not automatically included.
Direct Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about the BotReburn Resale File, its purpose, its limitations and the ongoing Refresh process.

What is a humanoid robot Resale File?

A humanoid robot Resale File is a structured record of available identity, ownership, lifecycle, maintenance, software, support and transfer evidence that may be relevant to a future resale.
